Wedding Events

The Haldi is a pre-wedding ceremony that is observed to purify the couple. The ceremony gets its name from the application of turmeric, mustard oil, yoghurt and chickpea flour (Vatna) on the couple by married ladies.

The application of Haldi is said to protect the couple from evil eye and is a symbol of blessings for a happy & healthy married life

This is a very playful and cheeky affair and relatives/friends will often mischievously apply Vatna on every available body part!

The Henna is one of the adornments of the bride. It is a common belief that the darker the colour the Mehendi leaves on the bride's hands, the more she will be loved by her husband and mother-in-law! The groom applies a token of Henna as a mark of good omen.

All present at the ceremony may apply Henna on their hands as a blessing for the couple!

Accommodation

As promised, we’ve managed to negotiate the rates at the hotel we chose to have our Wedding Dinner Reception, which will be held at Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The plus point for you, my guests, is that after the temple wedding in the morning followed by lunch, you get to return to the hotel and rest until the dinner reception.

Seri Pacific is located opposite the Sunway Putra shopping mall with a number of good restaurants, hair saloon, and the train station is right outside the hotel so you can always head into the city for sight-seeing or catch a taxi during non-peak period.

Please 828-212-2130 for pictures and descriptions of each room. We recommend paying the extra RM 38/night (AUD 12.67/night) for single room or RM18 (AUD 6/night) for twin sharing and go for the Deluxe rooms, instead of Superior. The Deluxe rooms have better views and are slightly more spacious.

All rooms at Seri Pacific have a private bath (tub) and a separate shower room, so you and your roommate can get ready at the same time! For twin sharing, rooms are available with the choice of two single beds or 1 king bed. Please contact us if you require a smoking room.

Full payment is required upon check in.

Transport

Transport will be organised for all our guests staying at Seri Pacific to get to the various events and back. Should you feel the need to book your own accommodation, please feel free to do so. However, we may not be able to provide individual transport for you to get to the various events in this case although we will try our best.

An easy option to travel in KL while you sightsee is by using the Grab app. In Malaysia, Grab is equivalent to Uber – the main difference being you book your ride via the app but you pay the driver in cash at the end of the trip.

The PWTC (Putra World Trade Centre) LRT railway station is also located right across the road from the hotel and can also be used to get around the city.
